Besides using it to work on files in the Object Pascal language (or the Delphi language, as Borland prefers to call it now), you can now use it to work on other files used in Delphi development (such as SQL, XML, HTML, and XSL files), as well as files in other languages (including C++ and C#). However, behind the scenes, it is a totally new tool. On the surface, Delphi's editor doesn't appear to have changed much for version 7 of the IDE.
